I ordered some pictures (printed on acryl glass) online and was looking for a mounting system to hang them on the wall. I always liked the system with a gap between the wall and the picture. The solution offered on the website where I bought the pictures was 8€ which I think is too expensive for a little bit of plastic.

So I designed them myself and 3D printed them on my printer. The result looks like the store-bought holders.

A picture with printed holders

There are three parts to print:

  • Wall Holder – mounted on the wall
  • Picture Holder – either glue to the picture or screw it with the nut-shaped hole
  • Distance Spacer – to keep distance to the wall consistent

You can find them in my GitHub Repo.

After everything is in place the picture holder slides onto the wall holder. With small pictures like the one in this example, one holder and one distance spacer might be enough. For larger pictures, I use two each.
